'What is a Chargrill?
Contrary to popular belief the taste of Char-grilled or Barbequed food comes from the charring or burning of the food not from the charcoal itself. When the food 'flares up' this is the fat catching alight around the food which creates temperatures in excess of 1000 degrees C! This is what chars the food and gives you the majority of the taste. The exception to this is when you burn real wood which in itself can add to the flavour of the food. The type of wood you use (apple, mesquite etc...) will also add to this. 

Bakers Pride produce a range of gas-fired chargrills suitable for a range of applications. Radiant chargrills, whilst relatively new to the UK, have been used by major restaurant chains in the USA for many years. The term radiant refers to the large 'V' shaped pieces of cast iron which sit above the gas burners glowing red hot and radiating heat.
